Dear P.S.184 Families,
 
We are expecting nice weather this week for out Field Days!!  See below for the schedule. Be on the lookout for a message from your child’s teacher regarding what color they should wear. Be sure to put sunscreen on your child and send them with plenty of water.
All families are invited to come and watch their children be active and have fun. Please note that if it rains, all activities will be moved indoors and families will not be to watch.

  • D.E.A.R. Drop Everything And Read! Program on Monday through Thursday beginning May 18 from 7:30–8:00 AM.
  • PTA Executive Board Election – Tuesday 5/19 at 9 am. Zoom link will be shared on Class Dojo

Important Announcements:
  • Respect our Neighbors! Please park and block the driveway of our neighbors! 
     
  • Save for College: Students enrolled in kindergarten through 4th grade at an NYC public school are eligible to receive $100 to create a Save for College account, regardless of income or immigration status. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Sandra, Parent Coordinator, at swblanchet@schools.nyc.gov or NYC Kids RISE at 1‑833‑543‑747.
     
  • Shoe safety: Please be reminded that backless shoes such as Crocs (even in “sports mode”), Uggs without the backs, flipflop, etc. should not be worn in school. 
     
  • Outdoor recess – Students will be going out to recess as long as the weather permits. Please ensure that your children are dressed appropriately and wear closed shoes – no slides and no Crocs. Please be sure to send children to school with proper outerwear.
     
  • Scooter and Bike Safety – ALL children riding scooters and bicycles should wear helmets at all times to ensure their safety. Scooters and bikes should not be ridden on the sidewalk during entry and dismissal.
     
  • Traffic Safety – Keep Our Children SafePLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways.
     
  • School iPads – If you would like your child to be able to bring their school issued iPad back and forth from home, you must contact Ms. Blanchet and set up a time to fill out a DOE device loan agreement.  Please note that this is different than the school loan agreement. Families will be responsible for any damage to the iPad and/or keyboard covers.
     
  • Breakfast – Doors open for breakfast at 7:40am. All students who come must take a breakfast.
     
  • Lateness – Students arriving after 8:15 must be signed in at the main office by an adult. Please be sure your child is in school on time by 8:10am
