Dear P.S. 184 Families, 

We are gearing up for another round of state exams this week. Our grade 3-5 students will be taking the NYS Math State Exam this Wednesday and Thursday. Please help your children be at their best be ensuring they have a good night’s rest, a healthy breakfast and arrive to school on time.
 
Also, SAVE THE DATE! Thursday, May 7th from 4-7pm is Multiculture Family Engagement Night!  Come as a family to create and take-home art projects representing different cultures/countries from around the world! The P.S. 184Q Green Team will also be having a plant sale! All students will receive a free gift for participating!
 
Upcoming events:
  • PTA Meeting – April 27th @ 7pm
  • April 29 & 30th – Math State exam – Grades 3-5
  • Welcoming Wednesday – May 6th at 8:15 am for Grades 3,4 and 5
  • Family Engagement Night: Art Around the World- Thursday, May 7 from 4-7pm
  • Annual Multiculture Parade – Friday, May 8th schedule will follow.
 
Important Announcements:
  • Shoe safety: Please be reminded that backless shoes such as Crocs (even in “sports mode”), Uggs without the backs, flipflop, etc. should not be worn in school. 
     
  • Outdoor recess – Students will be going out to recess as long as the weather permits. Please ensure that your children are dressed appropriately and wear closed shoes – no slides and no Crocs. Please be sure to send children to school with proper outerwear.
     
  • Scooter and Bike Safety – ALL children riding scooters and bicycles should wear helmets at all times to ensure their safety. Scooters and bikes should not be ridden on the sidewalk during entry and dismissal.
     
  • Traffic Safety – Keep Our Children SafePLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways.
     
  • School iPads – If you would like your child to be able to bring their school issued iPad back and forth from home, you must contact Ms. Blanchet and set up a time to fill out a DOE device loan agreement.  Please note that this is different than the school loan agreement. Families will be responsible for any damage to the iPad and/or keyboard covers.
     
  • Breakfast – Doors open for breakfast at 7:40am. All students who come must take a breakfast.
     
  • Lateness – Students arriving after 8:15 must be signed in at the main office by an adult. Please be sure your child is in school on time by 8:10am.
