Dear P.S. 184 Families, 
 
If you have not done so already, please be sure to fill out the NYC Parent Survey. The grade will the highest percentage of participation will win a prize!
 
We wish all of our families who are celebrating a Happy Eid!
 
As we welcome the warmer weather, we plan to have an evacuation drill this coming week. 
 
Upcoming events:
  • March 30th  – PTA meeting 7pm
  • April 1, 2026 – Grades K-2 – Welcoming Wednesday at 8:15 am
  • April 2nd – April 10th – School will be closed for Spring Break 

Important Announcements:
  • Shoe safety: Please be reminded that backless shoes such as Crocs (even in “sports mode”), Uggs without the backs, flipflop, etc. should not be worn in school. 
     
  • HIV lessons – A letter was sent home last week informing all families about the annual mandatory HIV lessons. Our PE teachers will begin teaching lessons in the coming weeks, ensuring that they are student appropriate for all of our students. Please note that there are no opt out lessons.
     
  • Breakfast – Doors open for breakfast at 7:40am. All students who come must take a breakfast. Entry door # 11
     
  • Attendance / Lateness – Students arriving after 8:15 must be signed in at the main office by an adult. Please be sure your child is in school on time by 8:10am. If your child will be absent, please call 718.352.7800 extension 7426, leave a message with your child’s name and class and the reason of their absence.
     
  • Scooter and Bike Safety – ALL children riding scooters and bicycles should wear helmets at all times to ensure their safety. Scooters and bikes should not be ridden on the sidewalk during entry and dismissal.
     
  • Traffic Safety – Keep Our Children SafePLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways.
     
  • Outdoor recess – Students will be going out to recess as long as the weather permits. Please ensure that your children are dressed appropriately and wear closed shoes – no slides and no Crocs. Please be sure to send children to school with proper outerwear.
     
  • School iPads – If you would like your child to be able to bring their school issued iPad back and forth from home, you must contact Ms. Blanchet at swblanchet@schools.nyc.gov and set up a time to fill out a DOE device loan agreement.  Please note that this is different than the school loan agreement. Families will be responsible for any damage to the iPad and/or keyboard covers.
