Dear P.S. 184 Families,
This past week, our grade 1-5 students participated in a school wide Civics For All Participatory Vote. Students were able to engage in an authentic real-life voting experience. Students were asked to officially sign in, receive and fill out an official ballot in a voting booth and submit their ballot into a ballot box to receive their “I voted” sticker. They voted on whether or not we should spend our Participatory budget of $2,260 on calming kits for the classroom, music instruments for Mr. Dietmann’s program or water filters for the cafeteria. The students’ majority vote was to use the money for additional music instruments for the music program. We are so proud of the students and how they fulfilled their civic duty this past week.
This past Friday, we also had our annual Winter concert where our grades K-4 students were able to showcase their musical abilities through singing and playing instruments. A BIG THANKS to Mr. Dietmann for all of his hard work in teaching and preparing the students for the concert. Everyone sounded great and we hope the families enjoyed the concert!
We will once again try to have our final evacuation drill this week.
Happy Hanukkah to the families who celebrate!
