Dear P.S. 184Q Families, 

 
This past Friday, out staff and students “Clapped Out” another school aide, Mindy Greenberg. Ms. Greenberg retired after working for close to 32 years at P.S. 184Q. We wish her well on the new chapter of her life.
 
Come join us on Thursday, November 20th from 5-7pm for Family Game Night!  Come for a fun night of games, prizes, and laughter! 
 
We are planning to have an evacuation drill this upcoming week as we continue to practice all of our safety drills.
 
Upcoming events:
  • Family Game Night – Thursday, November 20 from 5-7pm. Monday is the last day to reserve your spot. 
  •  Fall Photo Retakes – This day is only for those who were absent or If you wish for your child to retake their fall photos. Monday, October 24th.
  • PTA General membership meeting/SLT election – Monday, October 24th at 7:00 pm. Zoom link will be posted on Class Dojo.
  • Thanksgiving Break – The school will be closed Thursday November 27 and Friday, November 28th.
  • Prek-2 Welcoming Wednesday – Wednesday, December 3, 2025 – More information to come. 
 
Important Announcements:
 
  •  Lost & Found – Once again the lost & found bin is overflowing. For your convenience the bin is placed by the main entrance. Please feel free to stop by and search in it if your child has misplaced something at school. If the items are not collected by November 25th, all remaining items will be donated regardless of value or condition. 
 
  • Breakfast – Doors open for breakfast at 7:40am. All students who come must take a breakfast.
     
  • Lateness – Students arriving after 8:15 must be signed in at the main office by an adult. Please be sure your child is in school on time by 8:10am.
     
  • Scooter and Bike Safety – ALL children riding on scooters and bicycles should wear helmets at all times to ensure their safety.
     
  • Traffic Safety – Keep Our Children Safe– PLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways.
     
  • Outdoor recess –  Students will go outside for recess as long as the temperature is 32°F or above and weather conditions permit. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the season with a warm jacket and/or layers, closed-toe shoes with a secure back (no crocs or slides)
     
  • School iPads – If you would like your child to be able to bring their school issued iPad back and forth from home, you must contact Ms. Blanchet and set up a time to fill out a DOE device loan agreement.  Please note that this is different than the school loan agreement. Families will be responsible for any damage to the ipad and/or keyboard covers.
