This coming week is Respect for All week. The guidance team has planned a wonderful week of events for all of the students to help them to learn about inclusion, diversity, kindness, and respecting others and themselves. There is a spirit day each day this week . RFA Week Schedule

Mid-Winter Recess – No school February 17th -21st -School reopens on Monday, February 24.
Important Announcements:

In case of remote instruction – In case schools are called to remote instruction due to circumstances such as extreme weather (ex. Snow storm), please be aware of the following:

Students should have a device at home to access Google classroom and virtual meeting platforms like Zoom or Google Meet, etc.

New! Students in grades K-5 will be required to be online for 5 hours with their teachers

Students should all know how to log into their student accounts such as Teachhub. If you don’t have it please contact Mrs. Blanchet at swblanchet@schools.nyc.gov or your child’s teacher.

- Test Prep afterschool program Grades 3,4 and 5- We are offering an After School Test Sophistication program at P.S. 184Q. Students will be grouped within the grade to best meet their needs. Your child’s teacher believes that your child will benefit by enrolling in these five (5) sessions program. A letter was sent home with your child with all the details. Please fill out the tear-off and send it in by Friday, February 28, 2025.

CEC The 2025 Community and Citywide Education Council (CCEC) Elections! created a short and simple video that explains the importance of these elections and how families can get involved. 📽️ Watch the Video: CCEC Illustrated Video. Participating in this upcoming elections as a candidate or a voter is your chance to help shape the future of our school community.

Outdoor recess – Students will be going out to recess as long as the real-feel temperature is 32 degrees and above. As the weather gets colder, please be sure to send your children with appropriate outerwear. Consider labeling your child’s jacket/coat on the inside so that it can be returned to them if lost.

School iPads – If you would like your child to be able to bring their school issued iPad back and forth from home, you must contact Ms. Agro and set up a time to fill out a DOE device loan agreement. Please note that this is different than the school loan agreement. Families will be responsible for any damage to the ipad and/or keyboard covers.

Traffic Safety – Keep Our Children Safe– PLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways.

New Lateness Procedures – After the doors close at 8:20am, for safety reasons, a parent/guardian must ring the doorbell, come sign in with security and then come to the main office to sign your child into school.
