Wishing all of our students, staff and families a Healthy, Happy New Year!
This month we are highlighting the character trait of PERSEVERANCE. Perseverance is the act of trying and trying despite facing challenges. Students will be learning about perseverance and how they can show perseverance throughout the month of January.

Welcoming Wednesday – Grades 3-5 – January 8th – Come observe and interact with your child’s class doing math activities. Please note, the entrance is on door #7 located on 21st ave.

Career Day – January 28th – More presenters needed. Please contact Ms. Acquista at macquista@schools.nyc.gov if you would like to come and speak to our students for Career day!

Outdoor recess – Students will be going out to recess as long as the real-feel temperature is above 32 degrees. As the weather gets colder, please be sure to send your children with appropriate outerwear. Consider labeling your child’s jacket/coat on the inside so that it can be returned to them if lost.

School iPads – If you would like your child to be able to bring their school issued iPad back and forth from home, you must contact Ms. Agro and set up a time to fill out a DOE device loan agreement. Please note that this is different than the school loan agreement.

Traffic Safety – Keep Our Children Safe– PLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways.

New Lateness Procedures – After the doors close at 8:20am, for safety reasons, a parent/guardian must ring the doorbell, come sign in with security and then come to the main office to sign your child into school.

Keep our School Yard Clean – Please be sure to keep our school yard clean by throwing all garbage away in the trash cans. We want to make sure the yard is clean and safe for our students to play in.
