Dear P.S. 184Q Families,

This past week, students in grades K-4 performed for staff, families and students during the Winter Concert. Mr. Dietmann did a great job in teaching our students the songs and instruments to accompany the songs. It was wonderful to be able to see our students performing on stage, enjoying themselves and delighting the audience!

Thank you to all that came to support the PTA by shopping at the PTA’s Winter Fair!

Upcoming events:
  • Report Cards – Report cards will be sent home on Thursday, December 12th.
  • Safety Drills – We need to have one more evacuation drill before the end of December. We will try and have it this coming week.

Important Announcements:

  • Absences – Please report if your child will be absent by calling the school main office at (718) 352-7800 Press 1 when prompted to report student absences. or email mendara2@schools.nyc.gov and provide the following information: your name, your child’s name, teacher, reason for absence and when your child is expected to return to school.

  • Outdoor recess – As the weather gets colder, please be sure to send your children with appropriate outerwear. Consider labeling your child’s jacket/coat on the inside so that it can be returned to them if lost.

  • School iPads – If you would like your child to be able to bring their school issued iPad back and forth from home, you must contact Ms. Agro and set up a time to fill out a DOE device loan agreement. Please note that this is different than the school loan agreement.

  • New Lateness Procedures –  After the doors close at 8:20am, for safety reasons, a parent/guardian must ring the doorbell, come sign in with security and then come to the main office to sign your child into school.

  • Keep Our Children Safe– PLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways.

  • Keep our School Yard Clean – Please be sure to keep our school yard clean by throwing all garbage away in the trash cans. We want to make sure the yard is clean and safe for our students to play in.
