Dear P.S. 184 Families, 
 
This past week ended in a fun and exciting way with the Halloween Parade and celebrations. Thank you to all who donated to our Halloween fundraiser this year. The P.S.184 community raised $1648 for the American Red Cross!! Thank you for your generosity!
 
Upcoming events:
  • Election Day – November 5, 2024 – School Closed 
  • Grades 3-5 – November 6, 2024 – Welcoming Wednesday – Come visit your child’s classroom to observe and learn more about HMH, our  – literacy curriculum. 8:15 – 8:50am
  • Half Day – Parent-Teacher Conferences – Thursday, November 7, 2024 – Dismissal begins at 11:20am. Virtual Parent teacher conferences 12:30 – 2:30pm and 4:30 – 7:30pm. Please be sure to contact your child’s teacher for an appointment if you have not already done so.
Important Announcements:
 
  • Remote Learning Assignment – On November 7, 2024, your child will receive a homework assignment that requires them to log into their Google Classroom and complete online as part of the city’s plan to ensure that students are able to shift to remote learning if needed. Please be sure to fill out the form that was sent home last week and look out for more information regarding this assignment.
     
  • School iPads – If you would like your child to be able to bring their school issued iPad back and forth from home, you must contact Ms. Agro and set up a time to fill out a DOE device loan agreement. Please note that this is different than the school loan agreement.
     
  • New Lateness Procedures –  After the doors close at 8:20am, for safety reasons, a parent/guardian must ring the doorbell, come sign in with security and then come to the main office to sign your child into school.
     
  • Keep Our Children Safe– PLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways. 
     
  • Keep our School Yard Clean – Please be sure to keep our school yard clean by throwing all garbage away in the trash cans. We want to make sure the yard is clean and safe for our students to play in.
