Please be aware that the NYC Department of Education does not provide a nut, milk or other allergen-free school environment or food service because the risk of accidental exposure is always present. No school can guarantee an allergen-free environment. Unfortunately, school cannot guarantee a nut, milk or “allergen-free” environment. The risk of exposure is always present. Instead, there is an “allergy aware” policy, which empowers everyone. Children with allergies become aware of what they can and cannot eat, and school staff is alert and careful about each student’s allergies.
Please ensure that any goodies sent to school are pre-packaged and nut free.

As mentioned last week, we will be conducting one evacuation drill (fire drill) and one soft lock down drill this week.

During the week of 9/23, we will be conducting two evacuations drills.

New Lateness Procedures – A letter was sent home to families on Friday regarding new lateness procedures. After the doors close at 8:20am, for safety reasons, a parent/guardian must ring the doorbell, come sign in with security and then come to the main office to sign your child into school.

Keep Our Children Safe– PLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways.

Keep our Yard Clean – Please be sure to keep our school yard clean by throwing all garbage away in the trash cans. We want to make sure the yard is clean and safe for our students to play in.

PTA meeting – Please join us on Monday, 9/23 at 7 pm (virtual). Zoom will be shared tomorrow via email and Class Dojo. At this meeting, There will be two very important Emergency Expedited Elections to fill open positions and seats within PTA and SLT.
