Dear P.S. 184Q Families,
We are so proud of our grade 3 and 4 students as they completed both days of the State ELA exam this past week. We wish our Fifth graders the best of luck for this coming Monday and Tuesday as they take the ELA on the computer for the first time! We know they will make us proud too!
Since we still have many upcoming State exams, please make sure that your child has a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast before each of their exams.
Please remember Spring Break is coming! There will be no school from April 22nd to April 30th. All students return to school on May 1st. 
Please join us for the following upcoming events:
  • Grade 3-5 – Welcoming Wednesday, May 1st from 8:15 – 8:50am – Come observe and learn about our SEL program, Mind Up. Limit to one guest per student.

Important Announcement:
  • State Exams
    • Families of students in grades 3-5, please read this Student Participation (Family) Guide (available in all DOE languages) regarding the State exams. Students in grades 3-4 will take paper based tests this year. Students in grade 5 will take the Computer Based tests this year. Grade 5 families will receive a letter from the DOE regarding the Computer based testing next week.

    • State Exam Schedule:

      • ELA – Grade 5 – April 15 & 16

      • Math – Grade 3-4 – May 7 & 8; Grade 5 – May 9 & 10 

      • Science – Grade 5 only – May 15th.

  • Grade 3-5 -After School Test Prep- Dates remaining April 18th and May 2nd 

  • Lost and Found – Once again our lost & found area is overflowing with jackets, sweatshirts etc.  For your convenience the bin with the lost and found items is located at the main entrance.  If items are not collected by April 19th all remaining items will be donated regardless of value or condition. 
  • Queens Zoo Event – The District 25 CEC is hosting “A day at the Queens Zoo” on Saturday, April 27 (during Spring Break) from 10AM to 2PM.  Please email parent coordinator Ms. Sandra at if you are interested in attending with the number of students and adults.  Limited number of free tickets are available, additional tickets for the Zoo will be available for purchase onsite on April 27. 

  • No School – Spring Break – April 22nd to April 30th . Students return to school on May 1st. 

  • Keep Our Children Safe– PLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways.
