Dear P.S. 184Q Families,
This coming week is Respect for All Week. Students will be engaging in activities that promote kindness and respect throughout the week. There will be daily kindness challenges, lessons in classrooms and special assemblies throughout the week. Please be sure to ask your child what the Kindness Challenge was for the day and consider participating yourself! Check the Respect for All calendar
The DOE Parent/Guardian Surveys will be sent home beginning Monday, February 12th . Please be sure to fill out the survey for our school. You can do this by filling out the paper survey or online. Classes with 100% of surveys submitted will receive a free snack! If you have any questions or need a device to submit your survey please contact our parent coordinator Ms. Sandra at

Happy Lunar New Year to All who celebrate!
Please join us for the following upcoming events:
  • February 29, 2024 from 6-8pm – Parent as Partners Workshop – Please join us for an evening where parent and child can learn together. Teachers will be giving more information about the HMH lessons and participants will be able to engage in various learning center activities. For math, families will be able to learn more about math problem solving and be able to create and take home a math tool. Please be sure to pre-register by completing the Google Form so that we can adequately prepare for the event.
Important Announcement:
  • Mid-Winter Recess – Schools will be closed from February 19th -23rd. Schools will re-open on Monday, February 26th.
  • Staying Healthy – Please click the link for the DOE’s Health guidance and Tips for staying healthy.

  • Keep Our Children Safe– PLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways. 
  • Remote Readiness – Please contact the school if you or your child has difficulty accessing Google Classroom at home.
  • Outdoor Recess – According to the NYC DOE, students are encouraged play outside whenever possible, which includes in cold weather. In collaboration with SLT, it is our school policy that children will go out to recess as long as the temperature is 32 degrees or higher with the wind chill. Children should come prepared with the following: a winter jacket, a hat, a scarf, and/or gloves. We suggest you label all items with your child’s first and last name. 
  • Class Dojo – If you have not done so already, be sure to sign up so that you can get updates from your child’s teacher
