Dear P.S. 184Q Families,
 
Safety is First at P.S. 184! This past week, the NYPD Youth officers gave a presentation to our grade 4 and 5 students on Cyber Safety and Cyber Bullying. This coming week, students in grades 1-5 will have a special assembly on swim safety. Be sure to ask your child what they have learned about staying safe!
 
Please join us for the following upcoming events:
    • February 7, 2024 – Welcoming Wednesday – 8:15 – 8:50am – Prek-Grade 2 families. Come observe and participate in a Math lesson. One guest per student allowed due to space limitations.

Important Announcement:
  • Grades 3-5 Afterschool Test Prep Program – Be on the lookout for information regarding the after-school test prep program. The program will begin in March. Registration information will be available shortly.

  • Keep Our Children Safe– PLEASE adhere to all traffic and safety laws. Do not double park. Do not triple park. Do not let your child let your child out in the middle of the street. Please respect our neighbors and do not block driveways.

Reminders:
  • Remote Readiness – Please contact the school if you or your child has difficulty accessing Google Classroom at home.
  • Outdoor Recess – According to the NYC DOE, students are encouraged to play outside whenever possible, which includes in cold weather. In collaboration with SLT, it is our school policy that children will go out to recess as long as the temperature is 32 degrees or higher with the wind chill. Children should come prepared with the following: a winter jacket, a hat, a scarf, and/or gloves. We suggest you label all items with your child’s first and last name. 
  • Class Dojo – If you have not done so already, be sure to sign up so that you can get updates from your child’s teacher.
