Weekly Update #34
Dear PS 184 Parents and Guardians,
On this Memorial Day weekend, we pause to reflect upon and thank all those who served and sacrificed for our country. We hope that you are enjoying the long weekend.
Device Return Process: Mrs. Tibbetts will be scheduling the collection of devices from those students who are currently in-person learners in the last weeks of June. This will help us to properly inventory and prepare the devices for use in the next school year. She will also be in touch with fully remote families to schedule late June or early July return of devices as well.
School Survey: Please complete your NYC School Survey. Your feedback is important. The information captured by the survey can help us make P.S. 184 a better place to learn. You can take the survey online via computer or mobile device at Panorama Education. To access your survey, please enter the letter “f” followed by your child’s nine-digit Student Identification (OSIS) Number. Note that “f” must be lowercase. Your survey responses are voluntary and confidential. The deadline to submit your survey is June 11, 2021. If you have questions or need any assistance, please contact our Parent Coordinator, Mrs. Golia.
Student Attendance: Regular and on-time attendance is expected for all students. Attendance continues to be monitored until the end of the school year. Remote and in-person attendance is taken every day. Remote students should be completing the mood meter in the morning, turning in assignments in a timely manner and participating in the live sessions. Students should arrive on time for class. In-person students in grades K-5 should be arriving between 8:20 and 8:30. Chronic absences and lateness are escalated, and parents will be contacted.
Health and Safety Guidelines: Please be reminded that although the CDC has released new guidance around mask wearing and immunization, this guidance does not yet apply to the K-12 school environment in New York. The recommendation is that schools continue to proceed with the original 20-21 safety and health procedures. We ask that you communicate about this with your children so that they are aware that the changes and rules that apply in some settings have not changed in the school setting.
Drop off and Pick Up: Please be reminded that the safest approach when dropping off and picking up your child is to park your vehicle and walk to the designated area. Teachers cannot release students to family members who are in a parked or double-parked vehicle. If you have difficulty with pick up or drop off contact the school. Please avoid double parking, stopping in the street and in no standing zones, and parking in neighbors’ driveways as a courtesy to all the members of our community.
