Weekly Update #33

Dear PS 184 Parents and Guardians,

Please read this week’s update for families.

Health and Safety Guidelines: Over the past week, the CDC has released new guidance around mask wearing and immunization. This guidance does not yet apply to the K-12 school environment in New York. The recommendation is that schools continue to proceed with the original 20-21 safety and health procedures. Please see the link for more information. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/operation-strategy.html. We ask that you communicate about this with your children so that they are aware that the changes and rules that apply in some settings have not changed in the school setting.

I Ready Assessments Window 3: This week students will be assigned the iReady window 3 assessments. Please ensure that if your child is learning remotely, they take the time to independently complete the assessment assignments provided in both math and ELA. In-person students will be provided with in school opportunities to take the assessments.

Drop off and Pick Up: Please be reminded that the safest approach when dropping off and picking up your child is to park your vehicle and walk to the designated area. Teachers cannot release students to family members who are in a parked or double-parked vehicle. If you have difficulty with pick up or drop off contact the school.
