Weekly Update #30

Dear Parents and Guardians,

 

We hope you have an opportunity to enjoy some beautiful weather and fresh air as we head into the month of May. 

 

Dance Program: The dance program with City Center and Ms. Dawn has begun and students will have 2-3 remote sessions between now and June. Grade 5 will have a full 8 week session remote residency.

 

Teacher Appreciation Week:  This week is Teacher appreciation week, and we thank our teachers for all their efforts. Families may want to send a quick note to a teacher in their child’s life at this link:

Summer Rising: As announced, Summer Rising is New York City’s free summer program for any City student in grades K–8, including students with disabilities, who wants to participate. PS 184 students are assigned to PS 21, located at 47-36 26th Ave, Flushing, NY 11354. Math State Exams: The math state exams begin this week for students in grades 3-5 who have opted to take the exam. Remote students who are taking the exam have received information about their scheduled time. 

 

D25 Town hall with the Chancellor: The District 25 Community Education Council is hosting a virtual town hall event with Chancellor Meisha Porter.

All District 25 parents are urged to attend!

Tuesday, May 18th, 6:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.

Kindergarten registration: Students who applied to kindergarten received offers and parents should have accepted or declined their seat. The registration process has begun. We are not able to welcome incoming families into the office this year for registration. Families with offers have been contacted about the various options to register. 



Spirit Day: This week’s spirit day on Friday May 7th is “Favorites Day” (wear your favorite color or pattern).  



Today marks Orthodox Easter, which is celebrated by many families in our school community. We wish you a very Happy Easter Sunday.
